Pervious Concrete is a specialty concrete consisting of cement, recycled fly ash or slag, coarse aggregates, water, and other necessary components to produce sufficient paste and bonding ability to glue coarse aggregates together. This creates a highly permeable yet, structural system of interconnected voids that drains storm water quickly. Aggregate characteristics, paste content and proper placement methods will determine the available density or void content to produce infiltration rates sufficient to handle Pacific Northwest storm events.

Certified Pervious Concrete Craftsman and Technicians

Three levels of certification are available through the NRMCA:

1. A Pervious Concrete Technician is a person who demonstrated knowledge about proper procedures to place, compact, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect pervious concrete pavements, but who lacks the requisite field experience to qualify as a pervious concrete Installer or Craftsman.

2. A Pervious Concrete Installer is a person who has demonstrated the ability to place, compact, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect pervious concrete pavements and has documented a limited project-based field experience in placing pervious concrete.

3. A Pervious Concrete Craftsman is a person who has demonstrated the ability to place, compact, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect pervious concrete pavements and has documented a higher level of field time-based experience in placing pervious concrete.

Chuck Fain- Certified Craftsman
Chuck is the owner of Concreteman Inc. and has been working in the construction field for 25 years.

Corey Viggue- Certified Craftsman
Corey has been an employee of Concreteman, Inc for eight years and currently the company foreman. He is a member of the Cement Mason’s Union.

Bob Stanton- Certified Craftsman
Bob has been an employee of Concreteman Inc. for 7 years and a member of the Carpenters Union.

Sam Baker- Certified Craftsman
Sam has been an employee of Concreteman Inc. for 13 years and is a member of the Laborer’s Union.

Chris Osborne- Certified Technician
Chris has been an employee of Concreteman Inc. since 2008 and worked in the construction field for 16 years. He is also a member of the Cement Masons Union.

Matthew Ward- Certified Craftsman
Matthew has been an employee of Concreteman Inc. since 2008 and has worked in the construction field since 2002. He is an apprentice for the Carpenters Union.
